GO GREEN for Earth & Body

It's Earth Day, so GO GREEN for Earth & Body!

Do you drink green tea? If so, good for you … if not, you may want to start. Here’s the biggest reason why…

Green tea is high in antioxidants. According to WebMD, “antioxidants protect the body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are molecules with at least one unpaired electron, making them especially reactive to other atoms or groups of atoms. If free radicals react with certain chemicals in the body, they may interfere with the ability of cells to function normally”.

If you have high levels of free radicals, your body’s cells will more than likely be damaged. This is not good since cell damage results in fatigue, pain, illness and disease.

Here’s a simple analogy … picture free radicals as bullets. As our bodies are exposed to “bad stuff” (aka, free radicals); like pollution, processed foods, stress, cigarette smoke, sugar, pesticides and preservatives, free radicals start flying around in our bodies or “shooting” at our bodies cells. When this happens, the almighty antioxidants step in (dunt da da daaah) and basically act like shields; they protect our cells from being attacked by the evil free radicals. If your body is depleted of antioxidants, cell damage will inevitably occur. The higher your level of antioxidants, the more your body’s cells will be protected, or shielded. Green tea is high in antioxidants because it’s not processed or altered much before consumption. It’s all natural!

If you haven’t added green tea to your daily regimen, you might want to consider doing so. GO GREEN, your cells are depending on you!
